Avila Ranch San Luis Obispo

Available workforce housing is clearly a crisis in San Luis Obispo. It is a unique community and takes pride in open space preservation and environmental sustainability. And, often this type of regulation can stifle proposed housing developments. Not so with the Avila Ranch community housing development.  This 720-unit proposal features a wide range of affordable homes, a significant open space preservation and one of the first Net Zero Energy output neighborhoods in the state. BCA focused efforts on strong public relations work and community education to help convince the residents of the strong benefits of this proposal. Social media and digital strategies built an impressive level of support resulting in unanimous city council approval of the project.
